The Landrovers is op zoek naar een Automotive Engineer – Vehicle Mechanics & Dynamics.

In tegenstelling tot grote OEM-omgevingen, waar engineers vaak slechts verantwoordelijk zijn voor een klein onderdeel van het voertuig, draait deze rol om volledige voertuigbetrokkenheid vanaf dag één.

Voor de ontwikkeling van een nieuw voertuigplatform zoeken we een Automotive Engineer met een sterke achtergrond in mechanica en voertuig­dynamica. In deze rol ben je vanaf het begin betrokken bij het volledige ontwikkeltraject: van eerste principes en conceptontwikkeling tot prototypes en testen in de praktijk. Je hebt directe invloed op hoe het voertuig rijdt, aanvoelt en zich gedraagt.

Mogelijkheden bij The Landrovers

Als Automotive Engineer – Vehicle Mechanics & Dynamics werk je hands-on aan de ontwikkeling van een nieuw voertuigplatform. Je bent betrokken bij zowel ontwerp, simulatie als testen en werkt nauw samen met andere disciplines binnen het team.

Je werkzaamheden bestaan onder andere uit:

• Ontwerpen en ontwikkelen van mechanische voertuigsystemen, waaronder:
  • Ophanging en chassisarchitectuur
  • Stuursystemen
  • Integratie van aandrijflijnen
  • Thermische managementsystemen
• Ontwikkelen en optimaliseren van voertuig­dynamica, zoals:
  • Rijcomfort, handling en stabiliteit
  • Belastingsgevallen, kinematica en compliance
  • Bandeninteractie en krachtenverdeling
• Werken met simulatie-tools voor multibody-dynamica en systeemmodellering
• Vertalen van systeem- en voertuigeisen naar technische specificaties
• Ondersteunen van prototypebouw, integratie en hands-on testen
• Analyseren van testdata en itereren van ontwerpen op basis van praktijkresultaten
• Samenwerken met software-, control- en elektrische teams, met name bij voertuigen met geavanceerde of autonome functionaliteiten

Wij Zoeken

• HBO Automotive Engineering, Werktuigbouwkunde of vergelijkbaar met minimaal 5 jaar relevante werkervaring, óf
• MSc (TU / Technische Universiteit) Automotive, Mechanical of Vehicle Engineering
• Sterke kennis van mechanica en voertuig­dynamica
• Ervaring met ophangingsgeometrie, kinematica en structurele analyses
• In staat om afwegingen te maken op voertuigniveau (prestaties, comfort, duurzaamheid)
• Ervaring in een ontwikkel- en prototypegerichte omgeving
• Goede beheersing van de Engelse taal, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk

Het is een pré, maar geen vereiste, als je:

• Ervaring met autonome voertuigen of robotica
• Bekendheid met multibody-simulatietools zoals Simscape, Adams, CarMaker of vergelijkbaar
• Kennis van elektrische of hybride voertuigarchitecturen
• Ervaring binnen kleine, snel bewegende engineeringteams
• Ervaring met track testing, off-road testing of experimentele voertuigontwikkeling

The Landrovers is looking for an Automotive Engineer – Vehicle Mechanics & Dynamics.

Unlike large OEM environments where engineers often own only a small slice of the vehicle, this role is about full vehicle involvement from day one.

For the development of a new vehicle platform, we are looking for an Automotive Engineer with a strong background in mechanics and vehicle dynamics. In this role, you will be involved from the very beginning of the development process: from first principles and concept development to prototypes and real-world testing. You will have direct influence on how the vehicle drives, feels, and behaves.

Opportunities at The Landrovers

As an Automotive Engineer – Vehicle Mechanics & Dynamics, you will work hands-on on the development of a new vehicle platform. You will be involved in design, simulation, and testing, and collaborate closely with other disciplines within the team.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Designing and developing mechanical vehicle systems, including:
  • Suspension and chassis architecture
  • Steering systems
  • Drivetrain integration
  • Thermal management systems
• Developing and optimizing vehicle dynamics, such as:
  • Ride comfort, handling, and stability
  • Load cases, kinematics, and compliance
  • Tire interaction and force distribution
• Working with simulation tools for multibody dynamics and system-level modeling
• Translating system and vehicle requirements into clear engineering specifications
• Supporting prototype build, integration, and hands-on testing
• Analyzing test data and iterating designs based on real-world results
• Collaborating with software, control, and electrical teams, especially on vehicles with advanced or autonomous functionality

We are looking for

• HBO (BSc) in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or
• MSc (TU / University of Technology) in Automotive, Mechanical, or Vehicle Engineering
• Strong knowledge of mechanics and vehicle dynamics
• Experience with suspension geometry, kinematics, and structural analysis
• Ability to make vehicle-level trade-offs (performance, comfort, durability)
• Experience working in a development and prototype-focused environment
• Good command of the English language, both spoken and written

It’s a plus, but not required, if you have:

• Experience with autonomous vehicles or robotics
• Familiarity with multibody simulation tools such as Simscape, Adams, CarMaker, or similar
• Knowledge of electric or hybrid vehicle architectures
• Experience working in small, fast-moving engineering teams
• Experience with track testing, off-road testing, or experimental vehicle development
