In December 2025, Top Gear’s senior editor Stephen Dobie visited our head quarters in Amsterdam. Inside the workshop, where classic Defenders are rebuilt and re-engineered, he spent time with the Panterra Defender and the team who developed it. His visit resulted in a first-drive review that looks beyond nostalgia and specifications, focusing instead on how this electric Defender drives, feels and redefines what a restomod can be.
As Top Gear puts it: “This is no mere transplant, though. The Landrovers has spent the last seven years building up to this point, redesigning almost every component beneath that familiar Landie silhouette to properly do justice to the engineering depths it’s explored“
On 17 January 2026, The Landrovers was featured in the popular Dutch television programme De Mooiste Wegen with Werner Budding on RTL 4 at 17:30. In this episode, the journey leads to Mallorca, an island where landscape, craft and driving pleasure go hand in hand. At the centre of the story is our Defender Panterra Rica, travelling across some of Mallorca’s most celebrated routes. From the dramatic ascent of Sa Calobra and the Col dels Reis to the exposed cliffs of Cap Formentor.
