What started as a dream evolved into a buzzing enterprise of over 60 passionate builders, technicians and creators. The Landrovers is a boutique workshop based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and specialized in building premium custom Land Rover Defenders.
Meet Peter, Daniel and Frank, founders and owners of The Landrovers. Peter and Daniel, already buddies in high school, founded the company in 2011. They share a great passion for the Defender, which was fueled by their ultimate dream of driving from Amsterdam to Cape Town, South Africa. Thinking of this epic journey, Daniel and Peter started restoring classic Defenders. In 2018, Frank joined The Landrovers as the perfect partner to run the electric and product development departments. With his engineering skills and leadership, he helped the company create the first ever and only High Performance Electric Defender in the world.

All final elements are seamlessly integrated to create a unified finish that goes beyond your emagination.

The Stock and Supply Chain Team at The Landrovers ensures that every component — from rare Defender parts to luxury materials — is sourced, stocked, and delivered on time. Their precise planning and coordination keep production running smoothly, ensuring nothing stands in the way of building a custom Defender to the absolute perfection for each customer.
The Branding and Social Media Team manages all visual and digital touchpoints of The Landrovers. With over 1.5 million followers across platforms, they handle content creation, brand identity, website design, and marketing materials — ensuring every post, page, and pixel reflects the craftsmanship and character of our custom Defenders.
At Electric Bay we are responsible for all electronics, wiring, and custom harnesses within each Defender. We ensure flawless signal flow, perfectly functioning software, and that every switch, light, and system responds precisely as it should. From power distribution to smart integrations, our work powers the performance, safety, and innovation behind every vehicle we build.
The Body Assembly Team brings the new soul of each Defender to life. Here, chassis and body panels are united with precision to form the full exterior. Every weld, fit, and alignment is executed with care — laying the foundation for a custom-built vehicle that’s as strong in structure as it is striking in presence. At this stage customers are getting a glimpse of their dream defender build.
Meet our Panterra Electric team, responsible for all development and construction of the groundbreaking electric Defender Panterra. Combining cutting-edge in-wheel motor technology with The Landrovers’ craftsmanship. ‘We engineer powerful, sustainable performance and innovative electric drivetrains — bringing a new era of adventure and efficiency to this iconic vehicle.’
‘We play – just like all our valued colleagues – a crucial role in blending classic Defender character with modern performance. The bulkhead acts as a vital link between driver and powertrain, while NASA-approved insulation materials protect the cabin from heat and cold, ensuring maximum comfort. We preserve the iconic Defender contour, enhancing it to handle all weather and terrains. When installing powerful engines like the 6.2-liter V8 with 450 horsepower, we mechanically reinforces the entire powertrain to handle the increased load—balancing innovation with respect for the vehicle’s heritage.’
The Upholstery Team transforms the Defender’s interior into a unique work of art. Over the entire build, they collaborate closely with customers to select colors, materials, and seat layouts tailored to lifestyle and personal wishes. Every piece is hand-stitched with care, from seats and dashboards to custom accessories like suitcases and pouches. ‘Our craftsmanship results in interiors that perfectly reflect individual tastes and needs. Each Defender’s interior carries its own exclusive personality, proudly marked with a special plate bearing its birth name — making every vehicle truly one of a kind.’
Spray painting is an actual art! Our painting artists are highly skilled and trained specialists who restore each Defender body part with precision. Usage marks are carefully removed without filler, preserving authenticity. Damaged parts are replaced with original Land Rover components. All metal and parts are hot dip galvanized before painting, ensuring durability and protection. ‘Our paint job really defines the sparkling personality of our customers.’
