Custom made Land Rover Defender LaRovekamp van The Landrovers

LaRovekamp: built for the roads that don’t exist yet

LaRovekamp was never meant to become a garage queen. From the very beginning, this bespoke classic Land Rover 110 was built for adventure. For crossing mountain roads before sunrise, towing the owners race car and horses through Europe, disappearing into forests, and arriving somewhere unexpected long after dark.

50 shades of green

Our client wanted to finish her Defender in Ferrari Verde British Racing. The deep green paint changes character with the light: elegant in the city, almost wild out in nature. Combined with the custom 18” Lion Flat Dish Wheels and the unmistakable sound of the Corvette LS3 V8, the car feels both timeless and completely untamed.

But what truly defines this build is not power or luxury alone, it is the feeling of freedom woven into every detail. The custom designed airplane on the back of the car, says it all.

Bespoke in every detail

Inside, thick vintage leather, diamond-stitched seats and door panels, subtle ambient lighting and sound system create an interior designed for long days on the road and nights that never quite go according to plan. The completely re-engineered Lion Luxury second-row bench transforms the rear cabin into a space where passengers can travel in comfort, with increased legroom and a fully adjustable rear seat.

“This project became really personal,” says Daniel van Oort. The owner was – as he is with every client – deeply involved throughout the entire process. “She came by regularly, experienced every stage of the build, and together we refined countless details. That level of collaboration creates something far beyond just a car. We were in this adventure together.”

Technical but mostly personal

“With our new Dream Room, clients can completely immerse themselves in materials, colours, textures and design ideas,” Daniel explains. “It gives people the freedom to truly dream about what their Defender could become. It’s to us, to not only make that dream come true, but to surpass it.”

Defender LaRovekamp was designed to do almost everything. A heavy-duty tow hitch allows the owner to transport her race car to circuits and events and her horse trailer to wherever she might roam. The additional fuel tank extends the journey far beyond the usual stops. An onboard air compressor allows the tires to be reinflated after off-road driving, or perfectly adjusted for the race car waiting behind it.

The TracTive semi-active suspension continuously adapts to changing conditions, whether cruising comfortably for hours, driving through mountain passes, carrying heavy trailer loads or tackling rough terrain far from civilization. Together with the winch bumper and high-definition LED bars, the Defender feels prepared for wherever curiosity leads next.

SC.7 Skyvan

And then there is the detail nobody forgets. Integrated into the rear window is the silhouette of an SC.7 Skyvan, the owner’s favourite aircraft, the same plane from which she once skydived. It captures the entire spirit of the build and the owner’s nature: fearless, adventurous and deeply personal.

“The most beautiful moment for me,” Daniel says, “was receiving videos from her during an off-road trip. You could see the concentration, the excitement, the huge smile on her face. That’s when you realise this Defender is doing exactly what it was built for. It’s being lived in.”
