On 17 January 2026, The Landrovers was featured in the popular Dutch television programme De Mooiste Wegen on RTL 4. In this episode, the journey leads to Mallorca, an island where landscape, craft and driving pleasure go hand in hand. At the centre of the story is our Defender Panterra Rica, travelling across some of Mallorca’s most celebrated routes. From the dramatic ascent of Sa Calobra and the Col dels Reis to the exposed cliffs of Cap Formentor.
Werner Budding from ‘De Mooiste Wegen’ behind the wheel of Defender Rica.
Behind the wheel is one of the Netherlands’ most respected automotive journalists and presenter: Werner Budding. Werner is also known as the owner of one of the biggest online platforms about electric cars in The Netherlands, called E-Drivers. com. Throughout the episode, his enthusiasm for the Defender Panterra is unmistakable.
“What a surprise, this Defender!” he says. “It does exactly what you would never expect – and it does it extremely well: it drives brilliantly. A kind of ultimate all-round package: unbeatable off-road, yet on the winding ribbons of asphalt in the north of Mallorca it manages to impress even at serious speeds.
That innovative engineering can lead to something beautiful is nothing new. But that this electrified Defender Panterra Rica would perform so convincingly on a demanding mountain route was truly unexpected. The Landrovers have built the car that Land Rover themselves forgot to develop. Dutch perseverance, state-of-the-art technology, wrapped in a stunningly finished body of sustainable materials. This car makes you want it.”
De Mooiste Wegen goes beyond driving alone. The programme explores Mallorca’s living heritage, with visits to local artisans including a glassblower and a leather craftsman. Moments that align closely with our own values: craftsmanship, patience and respect for materials—whether mechanical or human.
The episode aired on January the 17th RTL 4 at 17:30 and will be repeated. Or stream it via Videoland.
For us, this episode is about adventure. Seeing the Defender Panterra Rica where it feels most natural: on the most demanding roads, in thoughtful company, and within a story that values both journey and craft.
We look forward sharing this moment with you.
