First Electric Defender Panterra Breeze in America

The Land Rover Defender America has never seen before: Panterra Breeze

On a Friday afternoon, Los Angeles slowly empties. The Pacific Coast Highway fills with cars heading north, Mulholland begins to quiet down and somewhere beyond Malibu, the city gives way to empty beaches, vineyards and mountain roads.

That is exactly where Defender Panterra Breeze belongs. Ocean air drifts through the cabin, the road slowly becomes part of the experience, and talking to each other is done without raising your voice… because for the first time in history, one of the world’s most iconic vehicles can be experienced in silence on American roads. Meet the first Land Rover Defender 110 Panterra, a fully electric reincarnation of a modern classic.

The first Electric Defender at Galpin Motors

Panterra Breeze is the first fully electric Panterra-driven Land Rover Defender in the United States. To be experienced at Land Rover Van Nuys in Los Angeles. For Galpin Motors it underlines the celebration of their 80th anniversary.

“It is a remarkable moment for a country that has embraced the Defender for decades now. Its reputation travelled across the ocean long before the car did. Today, that story enters a new chapter and i am so proud showcasing this vehicle at Galpin Motors,” says Beau Boeckmann, from Galpin Motors.

This Defender is not a classic fitted with batteries but the result of years of engineering. This one is truly reimagined from the ground up while preserving everything that made it the icon that it is today.

“This wasn’t about replacing an engine with an electric motor,” says Frank Tijs Chief Technical Officer and co-owner at The Landrovers. “We developed an entirely new vehicle around the Defender platform. Four independently controlled in-wheel motors changed everything. It allowed us to rethink the Defender without loosing its character. That’s what makes our Defender Panterra fundamentally different from an EV conversion.”

The way it moves

“That philosophy can be felt throughout Panterra Breeze. The handcrafted teak, natural Cognac leather and carefully considered, designed and built details create an interior that feels like a yacht. A modern digital cockpit sits comfortably inside traditional craftsmanship, proving that heritage and innovation can go hand in hand.” continues Daniel van Oort, founder and co-owner of The Landrovers.

Yet what defines this Defender isn’t found in the materials but found in the way it moves. There is no noisy demanding attention. No need to announce your arrival before you’ve stepped out. Breeze glides through Bel Air, arrives quietly at a private dinner in Beverly Hills, or leaves the city behind for a weekend in Santa Ynez with the same understated confidence.

Companion for life

“For decades, Americans admired the Defender they could never officially buy,” says Peter Zeisser, Founder and co-owner at The Landrovers. “To see the first fully electric Panterra-driven Defender driving these roads is incredibly special. We didn’t just make the Defender electric, we created the Defender that never existed before. Seeing that happen in America feels like the beginning of something entirely new.”

Perhaps that is what Defender Breeze represents: the  moment when heritage and innovation become the closest friends. A car as a companion for people who know that the best weekends rarely begin with a plan.
